Some 100 SMEs participated in a Digital transformation training held yesterday at Labourdonnais Hotel, Port Louis. The training relates to best practices and new trends on the digital market. It was organised by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) and Microsoft Indian Ocean Islands Limited.
Making Digital transformation a reality for SMEs is one of the main objectives of the Ministry of Business, Enterprise and Cooperatives as it can play an important role in developing the economy of Mauritius. Consequently, business adaptation to digital trends will be easier for future competition.
It is recalled that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was recently signed between SMEDA and Microsoft Indian Ocean Islands. It makes provision for training to local entrepreneurs in the fields of finance and accounting, financial entrepreneurial education and an introduction to information technology and cloud computing.
At the signature of the MOU, the Minister encouraged all entrepreneurs as well as those engaged in cooperatives to take advantage of the trainings to make the most of modern technology to boost up their enterprises.
